Mission and Vision

Our mission:

To proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in and through the outdoors.  (Romans 1:16)

In response to our mission we will...

  • Maintain and develop two unique outdoor facilities that complement each other: Camp Buc and Camp Fellowship (Luke 5:1ff & 5:16).
  • Offer a ministry of hospitality by hosting events and retreats for various groups from our churches and the wider community (Hebrews 13:2). 
  • Provide ministry for children, youth, and adults through a variety of programs (I Corinthians 9:22).
  • Implement our own special events and summer programs with a strong Christian education curriculum that stands firmly in the Reformed and Presbyterian theological tradition, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ (II Timothy 1:3-7).
  • Exemplify and teach good stewardship of God’s creation both in our programs and in our day-to-day operations (Genesis 1:27,8).  

 

One Ministry—Two Locations

In the Presbyterian Church (USA) we call our regional groupings of churches “presbyteries.” 

· Foothills Presbytery headquartered in Greenville, SC, holds ownership of Camp Buc. 

· Trinity Presbytery headquartered in Columbia, SC, holds ownership of Camp Fellowship.   

These two presbyteries have agreed to form a joint Outdoor Ministries Board comprised of leaders from both presbyteries who serve together, offering their time and gifts to implement our mission at both of our sites.
